Thank you for installing O&O DiskImage 12!<\/h1>\n

We would like to show you in a few short steps how you can quickly get started using O&O DiskImage.<\/p>\n

What is O&O DiskImage?<\/h3>\n

With O&O DiskImage you can quickly and easily create a backup of the entire computer, your hard disks and partitions. Even individual files and directories can be easily backed up. In the event of data loss, with a backup created with O&O DiskImage, your backed-up data will be quickly available again with just a few mouse clicks – even if Windows does not start again.<\/p>\n

Getting started with O&O DiskImage<\/h3>\n

After first starting O&O DiskImage you can enter your license number by clicking on “Enter your registration code\u201d or by purchasing a new license with \u201cBuy Now!\u201d<\/p>\n

O&O DiskImage offers a variety of features to help protect against data loss. It is recommended after the first installation to create a boot medium and a full image to immediately be fully protected against data loss. Depending on the size of your hard drives, the image may take a while.<\/p>\n

Create Image<\/h3>\n

We strongly advise you to prevent data loss and protect yourself with just a few clicks:
\n1. Click Create one-click image<\/strong>.
\n2. Then check the target path entered for the image. We recommend saving the image on an external drive, e.g.\u00a0USB hard drive.
\n3. Click Start<\/strong> to continue with the imaging process. The process might take some time depending on the size of\u00a0the drive.<\/p>\n

Restoration<\/h3>\n

In order to restore your entire computer or system partition, you need to start O&O DiskImage from a bootable medium under Windows PE. Please proceed as described in chapter Start directly from bootable disk .<\/p>\n

Tip:<\/b>
\nFor the restoration of an image onto a computer with hardware different than the source computer, please consult\u00a0the notes in chapter Machine independent restoration (M.I.R.)<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
    \n
  1. Start O&O DiskImage directly from the bootable medium.<\/li>\n
  2. Select Drive restoration<\/b> in the start page of O&O DiskImage.<\/li>\n
  3. Click Select image<\/b> in the form field or navigate to the storage location of the image in the browser button.<\/li>\n
  4. Select the image containing the system partition i.e. all drives of your computer and click Open.<\/b><\/li>\n
  5. All drives included in the image will be shown in the drive list.<\/li>\n
  6. Check the drives you want to restore from the image. If you want to restore your entire computer, check all drives.<\/li>\n
  7. Then select the target drive or disk that should be overwritten with data from the image.*<\/li>\n
  8. Click the Start drive restoration symbol to start the restoration process.<\/li>\n
  9. After restoration is successful, you can restart your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Of course, you can also restore the backup on a new computer, for instance if you have replaced your old PC.<\/p>\n
